It might have taken me almost 3 months to read but boy was this book worth it!

I have loved the Clans of Kalquor series by Tracy St. John since I was first introduced to it over a year ago. Sadly I got soooo behind with reading my books that I am finally just now able to get caught up with all of the stories!

I think what I loved most about Alien Refuge was the fact that Tracy finally brought in a female lead, Iris, who had a priority higher than just the men she was going to eventually get involved with. Thomas, her son, is a super special little guy too not like most other children. But despite his differences the three Kalquors that this book revolves around accept him regardless and love Iris even more because of him. They’re all such good guys!!

Ospar, Jol, and Rivek were really great characters. You are first introduced to Ospar and Jol in one of the Clan Beginnings books and I’ve liked them since then and always hoped they’d get their own book! I have already bought the next few books in this story and can’t wait to finish reading them!

Here is my personal preferred reading order of all the Clans of Kalquor stories:
#1 – Clan, Honor, and Empire (Clan Beginnings #3)
#2 – Alien Embrace (Clans of Kalquor #1)
#3 – Clan and Crown (Clan Beginnings #4)
#4 – Alien Rule (Clans of Kalquor #2)
#5 – Michaela (First Mataras #1)
#6 – To Clan and Conquer (Clan Beginnings, #1)
#7 – Alien Conquest (Clans of Kalquor #3)
#8 – Sister Katherine (Nuns of Europa #1)
#9 – Alien Salvation (Clans of Kalquor #4)
#10 – Clan and Conviction (Clan Beginnings #2)
#11 – Alien Slave (Clans of Kalquor #5)
#12 – Alien Redemption (Clans of Kalquor #6)
#13 – Alien Refuge (Clans of Kalquor #7)
#14 – Alien Caged (Clans of Kalquor #8)
#15 – Alien Indiscretions (Clans of Kalquor #9)

There is also Alien Interludes which had 9 short stories revisiting different characters from the above books and Shalia’s Diary which is a 6 book series so far.  I’ve not read either of these so I’m not quite sure where they fit into the Kalquor world chronologically but they are indeed Clans of Kalquor stories.

Disclaimer: These books have MMM, MMMF, BDSM, and a bunch of other sexual stuff so if that’s not you’re cup of tea then I wouldn’t recommend them.  But if you have a little freak in you….then DO PROCEED and buy all these books!
